My relationship with my body changed long before I had the language to understand it.
As a teenager, I was diagnosed with ITP after becoming seriously unwell. It was the first moment I realised my health wasn’t something I could ignore - and that awareness stayed with me.
In my early twenties, I worked across the care sector, supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, elderly care and young people with behavioural challenges. I loved the work, but it was physically and emotionally demanding in ways my body was quietly struggling with.
Then, in 2017, everything changed.
After weeks of being dismissed with repeated antibiotics, I was rushed to hospital, in the early hours of the morning, I was told I had multiple clots on my lungs.
A doctor looked at me and said:
“You were lucky you came in when you did.”
Within days, I was diagnosed with APS, a lifelong autoimmune condition.

I was told to give it time.
So I did what many of us are taught to do- I pushed through.
I returned to work, tried to keep up and lived in a constant state of survival. Telling everyone I was “fine” while my body struggled behind the scenes.
Over a year later, further scans revealed the clots had never gone, scar tissue had formed and I was referred into specialist care, where I remain today.
That was the moment I realised something important:
The problem was never my motivation or resilience.
It was the belief that success had to come at the cost of my health.
What followed wasn’t a straight line to healing
But it changed everything about how I understood success, safety and self-trust.
Instead of continuing to fight my body, I began learning how to work with it.
I stepped away from physically demanding roles, focused deeply on my mindset and eventually trained as a coach.
With the intention of building a life that could adapt to my health, not punish it.
That decision became the foundation for everything that followed.

The Healing Hustle Era was created as an alternative to hustle culture and burnout narratives.
This work is rooted in the belief that healing comes first, not as a delay to success but as a foundation that makes sustainable growth possible.
Especially for women living with chronic illness, burnout, or nervous system overwhelm, this approach isn’t optional… it’s essential.
Here, success is allowed to be slow, supported and flexible.
Ambition is allowed to evolve with your body.
You’re welcome to explore this space at your own pace.
